An Extreme Fire Danger rating and Total Fire Ban has been declared for Wednesday 28 February 2024 for the Surf Coast Shire.
Fire danger is predicted to be extreme in the Surf Coast (Central) region and catastrophic in the west of the state. A Total Fire Ban has been declared.
- These conditions mean fires will spread quickly and become dangerous
- Now is the time to enact your Bushfire Survival Plan – The safest option is leaving high risk areas the day before or early in the morning before weather conditions deteriorate.
- Relocate to areas of lower risk in larger townships such as Torquay or Geelong.
- Reconsider unnecessary travel – avoiding high risk areas tomorrow.
