Farewell To Anti-Discrimination Commissioner

Tasmanian Government

The Anti-Discrimination Commissioner, Ms Sarah Bolt, will conclude her role as Anti-Discrimination Commissioner effective from 19 November 2024.

Ms Bolt has held the position of Anti-Discrimination Commissioner since 2017 and during this time has been a strong advocate for the rights of all Tasmanians and the importance of upholding a society free from discrimination.

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Guy Barnett, thanked Ms Bolt for her contribution during her time in the role and wished her well for the future.

"Tasmania's anti-discrimination framework strikes an important balance between protecting community members from discrimination and allowing them to enjoy fundamental rights and freedoms," the Attorney-General said.

Expressions of interest will shortly be invited from suitably qualified persons interested in appointment as the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner.
