Council is thrilled to announce this year's guest appearance at Paws in the Park is Farmer Dave!
The professional animal behaviourist from south-west Queensland, media personality and co-founder of Rufftrack, a youth engagement program that helps young people reconnect with their communities, said dogs were his world.
"They have been my faithful work companions in the harsh Australian outback and have helped me in educating people across the globe about their nature and behaviour," Farmer Dave said.
"Dogs are more than just animals - they are our loyal friends, protectors, and healers, and I feel privileged to work with them every day.
"As Australians, we have a rich culture of celebrating our dogs as loyal companions. We owe it to ourselves and our furry friends to keep pushing the boundaries and finding new ways to enrich our lives with their boundless love and unwavering loyalty."
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli said Dave's journey was one of incredible strength and resilience.
"Dave's younger years were spent on his family's huge station, managing and for his family's many working dogs. He came to understand from a very young age that, aside from being so important to the running of the farm, dogs really were man's best friend," Cr Fedeli said.
"That's what made him a perfect fit for our fantastic event.
"Make sure you don't miss the chance to meet him and hear his inspiring story."
