Perth's much-loved Farmers Market on Manning opens its new doors at Hedley Park this Saturday, 5 October, bringing vibrancy and foot traffic to the area as Master Planning for the Bentley Redevelopment Project gets underway.

The Farmers Market on Manning has been a key fixture for the Perth community, offering fresh, top-quality local produce and products since 2009. Its relocation to Hedley Park aligns with the State Government's vision for the area, to create a diverse and sustainable residential community that promotes inclusion and connectivity.

Feedback on the Bentley Redevelopment draft Master Plan and draft Redevelopment Scheme is open until 16 November 2024, providing the public an opportunity to help shape the future of this important urban renewal project.

The Bentley Redevelopment Project is expected to deliver between 800 and 1,000 new homes, including social and affordable housing, community facilities, and ample green spaces for residents to enjoy.

The market will continue to run every Saturday morning from 7.15am to 12.15pm, except during the Christmas/New Year period or in the event of inclement weather. More information about the markets, including temporary parking areas, can be accessed from www.farmersmarketonmanning.com.au.

As stated by Lands Minister John Carey:

"The relocation of the Farmers Market to Hedley Park, along with the Bentley Redevelopment, will play an important role in reactivating this key area in Bentley - creating a vibrant community and active spaces that everyone can enjoy.

"The Bentley Redevelopment will provide a major boost to housing diversity in Perth - seeing potentially between 800 to 1,000 new homes created across the site, and an updated draft planning framework and draft Master Plan have been released for public comment.

"I encourage the community to have their say on the draft Master Plan and Redevelopment Scheme."

As stated by Victoria Park MLA Hannah Beazley:

"The vision for the Bentley Redevelopment Project is to create a vibrant residential community with a diverse range of housing options, as well as parklands and community amenities.

"These markets are just the first step in transforming the area into a focal point for the local community to enjoy.

"The release of the draft Bentley Redevelopment Scheme and draft Master Plan marks an exciting step forward in our commitment to transform this under-utilised slice of Bentley into a thriving, inclusive community."
