Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Great Western this morning.
Investigators have been told a car and a truck collided on the Western Highway about 10am.
The driver and only occupant of the car, believed to be a man in his 60s, died at the scene.
The male driver of the truck was trapped in his vehicle for a short time before being released and taken to hospital for treatment.
His female passenger did not require treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are still being established.
