Police are currently on scene and investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Newry this afternoon, Victoria Police say.
Police have been told a silver Mercedes sedan and a silver Mazda utility collided at the intersection of Three Chain Road and Newry-Boisdale Road about 1.40pm.
The male driver of the Mercedes died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
The female passenger of the Mercedes has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
Two males in the utility were not injured.
