Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Echuca West earlier this morning, Victoria Police say.
Emergency services responded to reports of a car on fire at the intersection of Echuca-Mitiamo Road and Wharparilla Road shortly before 1.30am.
Upon arrival, police located the driver and single occupant of the car deceased.
Investigators believe the vehicle may have run off the road and struck a large mound of dirt, catching on fire as a result.
The driver of the car has not yet been identified.
Investigations are ongoing.
