Police are investigating a fatal crash near Taree this morning, NSW Police say.
Just after 5am (Tuesday 7 November 2017), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway in Coolongolook, following reports of a car on fire.
Witnesses have told police the Hyundai Elantra sedan left the roadway before flipping on its side and catching fire.
Officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
The single occupant of the car, believed to be a man, died at the scene.
A brief will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
