Police are investigating a fatal crash near Tamworth, NSW Police say.
About 6.40am today, a Hyundai hatch was travelling south on Werris Creek Road, about 2km south of Duri, when investigations suggest the vehicle hit a duck which was on the road.
The vehicle then left the road, crashing into a tree.
Witnesses and police attempted to revive the 19-year-old woman, from Quirindi, however she died at the scene.
Forensic services are at the scene making inquiries. Werris Creek Road has been closed in both directions while investigations take place.
Diversions are in place.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
