Police are investigating following a single vehicle fatal crash in Mount Lonarch this morning, Victoria Police say.
It is believed the car was travelling west on Lexton-Ararat Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree about 11.30am.
An unidentified person has died at the scene and it has yet to be confirmed if there were any other occupants in the vehicle.
The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
Lexton-Ararat Road is currently closed, motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
