A man has died following a crash near Taree earlier today.
Shortly after 9am (Wednesday 31 July 2024), emergency services were called to Wingham Road, Wingham, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
At the scene, police were told that a cement truck and sedan collided before leaving the roadway.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted CPR on the driver of the sedan; however, he was unable to be revived.
The driver is yet to be formally identified, but is believed to be a man aged in his 30s.
The driver of the truck, a man aged in his 50s, was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
Police from Manning-Great Lakes Police District established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the incident.

Wingham Road is closed to all traffic, with diversions in place along Cedar Party Road and Youngs Road.
