Fatal Crash on Central Coast: Police Respond

A teenage boy has died following a crash on the Central Coast this morning.

About 1.30am (Wednesday 32 July 2024), emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, Charmhaven, following reports of a single vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District arrived to find a station wagon had hit a tree.

A 17-year-old male passenger died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The 19-year-old female driver left the scene but was later located a short time later.

She was taken to Gosford Hospital where she is under police guard.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

The Pacific Highway remains closed in both directions between Moala Parade and Jetty Avenue, Charmhaven, with local diversions in place.
