Police are investigating after a fatal crash in the state’s Riverina region this afternoon, NSW Police say.
About 3.45pm (Tuesday 18 September 2018), emergency services were called to Tooma Road, about 15km south of Tumbarumba, following reports a motorcycle had collided with a school bus.
Officers from Riverina Police District performed CPR on the rider – a man believed to be aged in his 60s – until the arrival of paramedics. He died at the scene.
A number of children, who were passengers on the school bus, were not injured.
The driver of the bus, a 63-year-old woman, was taken to Tumbarumba Hospital for mandatory testing.
Tooma Road has been closed and will remain closed for a number of hours. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and check www.livetraffic.com for the latest updates.
A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
