Sadly police can confirm a person has died in a structure fire at Pipers River this morning.
Police and other emergency services were called to the fire on Pipers River Road about 7am.
The house was fully engulfed by fire when police and Tasmania Fire Service crews arrived, and a person's body has been located inside.
A formal identification has not yet been conducted, but it is believed the deceased is a man in his 50s who lived at the residence.
Another resident who managed to escape the fire received medical attention at the scene, but was not injured.
TFS fire investigators will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
A formal identification of the deceased will also be conducted and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
