Fatal House Fire in Shellharbour: Crews Respond

A woman has died in a house fire near Shellharbour today.

About 11.55am (Friday 27 December 2024), police were called to Bradman Avenue, Warilla, following reports of a house fire.

On arrival, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District found the house well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews extinguished the blaze, before recovering the body of a woman on the property.

She is yet to be formally identified, however believed to be aged in her 70s.

Police have established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report is being prepared for the information of the Coroner.
