Emergency services remain on scene at a fatal multi vehicle crash in Sydney's north west.
About 1.30pm (Wednesday 12 July 2023), emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Blaxland Road and First Avenue, Eastwood.
Initial inquiries indicate that six vehicles are involved.
One person died at the scene. Two people were taken to hospital in critical conditions along with four others who sustained minor injuries. They will also undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.
Officers from Ryde Police Area Command have established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The road remains closed with local traffic diversions in place. Extended delays are expected, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
