Police and emergency services are on the scene of a three car collision in Yuroke this evening (26 February), Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a vehicle travelling south along Mickleham Road has slowed to avoid hitting a kangaroo.
A vehicle travelling in the same direction has collided in to the rear of that vehicle.
A passenger from the second vehicle has got out of the car he was travelling in and has been struck by a third vehicle which was also travelling south on Mickleham Road.
The yet to be identified man, died at the scene.
All drivers are assisting police with their enquiries.
Traffic is currently being diverted.
