Fatal Pedestrian Incident in Yungaburra: Police Update

A woman has been charged following a fatal vehicle and pedestrian incident at Yungaburra yesterday, October 31.

It will be alleged around 1.10pm a white MG sedan was travelling on Gillies Range Road when it left the road and struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 76-year-old Yungaburra man died at the scene.

Police located the driver of the vehicle, a 36-year-old Yungaburra woman, a short distance away after the vehicle was abandoned.

She has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and is due to appear before Mareeba Magistrates Court today, November 1.
