A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in the Hunter Valley early this morning.
About 2.30am today (Friday 28 March 2025), emergency services were called to Broke Road, Pokolbin, following reports of a crash.
At the scene, officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District were told a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
A female passenger of the vehicle – who is yet to be formally identified – died at the scene.
The driver – believed to be aged in his 40s – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious injuries before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
He will undergo mandatory testing.
A crime was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
