Fatal stabbing at caravan park at Sanctuary Point

A man has died following a stabbing on the state's South Coast overnight.

About 8pm (Sunday 25 July 2021), emergency services were called to a caravan park on Ethel Street, Sanctuary Point, after reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers attached to South Coast Police District entered a cabin and located a man, aged 49, with a stab wound to the chest.

Officers attempted CPR on the man, however he could not be revived and died at the scene.

Police were told a man was seen running from the caravan park, shortly after the incident.

A crime scene was established and an investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
