Fatal Stabbing In Thomastown - Update

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man as part of their investigation into a fatal stabbing in Thomastown on Thursday.

The 45-year-old man, who was arrested at the scene, has been charged with aggravated burglary-person present, theft and common law assault.

The charges follow an incident at a Victoria Drive address on 11 July about 8.40pm, where it was reported a man had been stabbed.

Medical assistance was provided to the 36-year-old Doreen man however he died at the scene.

Detectives are still searching for a second man in relation to the incident which appears to be a targeted attack.

The Glenroy man will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
