Fatal Traffic Accident in Rockhampton Area, Cops Responding

A 36-year-old Blackwater man has died in a two vehicle crash on the Capricorn Highway, east of Westwood this morning.

Investigations indicate at 11.04am a motorcycle was travelling east on the Capricorn Highway when it collided with a utility at the intersection with Spring Creek Road.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 36-year-old Rockhampton man, died at the scene.

The driver of the utility, a 65-year-old Blackwater man, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
