Detectives are investigating after a fatal traffic crash between two vehicles on the Sunshine Coast this morning.
Around 7.23am police and emergency services were called to Windsor Road at Burnside near Nambour, after reports of two vehicles colliding, trapping a woman inside her Nissan Micra.
The male driver of the second vehicle, a Mercedes hatchback which is believed to have been stolen, allegedly fled the scene on foot.
The female driver died at the scene.
Police searched the area and were able to apprehend the male driver at a nearby residence in Flinders Street. A gel blaster was also allegedly located nearby.
The Mercedes Hatchback was reported stolen this morning from Landsborough.
The male driver aged in his 20's is presently assisting police with their investigations.
Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with vision from the incident to please make contact.
