Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a two vehicle crash at Gympie this afternoon which claimed the life of a man, Queensland Police say.
Preliminary information suggests a head-on collision occurred on the Bruce Highway, just south of the intersection with Hall Road, around 1.15pm.
The driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles, a 40-year-old Cooran man, died at the scene.
A 55-year-old Deception Bay man, the driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle, received minor injuries and was transported to Gympie Hospital.
