Fatal Traffic Crash at Surfers Paradise

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal traffic crash at Surfers Paradise this afternoon, July 18.

Emergency services were called at 3.30pm to reports of an incident involving a car and an electric scooter along the Esplanade at the intersection of Trickett Street.

The rider, a 30-year-old Surfers Paradise woman, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) in a critical condition where she passed away.

The driver, a 38-year-old man, has been transported to GCUH.

Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant vision to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
