Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash in Bouldercombe yesterday, January 16.
Initial investigations reveal that around 3:25pm, a white Toyota Corolla hatchback was stationary in a southbound direction on the Burnett Highway, looking to make a right turn into Richmond Drive.
A blue Ford utility crashed into the rear of the Toyota, causing the vehicle to cross into oncoming traffic where it was struck by a black Subaru travelling north.
The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Corolla, a 75-year-old Bouldercombe woman, died at the scene.
The occupants of the Subaru, including a 32-year-old woman, a 34-year-old man and a 2-year-old-boy, were transported to the Rockhampton Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The occupants of the Ford suffered minor injuries, with the driver also transported to Rockhampton Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
