Police are at the scene of a fatal traffic crash approximately 5km north of Carmila, Queensland Police say.
Initial information suggests around 9.30am, a vehicle has left the Bruce Highway and overturned into Gillinbin Creek.
A boy who was a passenger in the vehicle died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a woman believed to be in her forties, sustained injuries and is being airlifted to the Mackay Base Hospital.
Another child in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
