Fatal Traffic Incident in Rockhampton City

A 74-year-old woman has died in hospital overnight after being struck by a 4WD in Rockhampton City on September 28.

Initial investigations indicate a Land Rover vehicle was travelling on Cambridge Street around 6.30pm last Saturday when it hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road.

The 74-year-old female pedestrian was initially taken to hospital with critical injuries and has passed away overnight from her injuries.

The 49-year-old male driver and 47-year-old female passenger in the vehicle were not injured in the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information or vision that can assist their investigations to come forward.
