Fatal Truck And Car Crash At Peak Hill

One person has died following a crash between a truck and a car in the state's central west.

About 5:10pm today (Monday 10 June 2024), emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, approximately 10 kilometres north of O'Leary's Lane, Peak Hill, following reports of a truck and car crash.

Officers from Central West Police District attended and found a cattle truck carrying livestock had collided with a four wheel drive.

Emergency services are currently on the scene; however, one person is deceased.

The Newell Highway is closed in both directions between Tomingly and Peak Hill.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
