Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a man in a truck crash in the state’s central west yesterday, NSW Police say.
Shortly before 2.30pm (Saturday 2 December 2017), a B double prime mover carrying a mixed freight load, was travelling south on the Newell Highway at Tooraweenah, about 44km north-east of Gilgandra.
Initial inquiries suggest the truck veered to the incorrect side of the highway before it left the road and travelled down a steep embankment into a paddock.
The driver, believed to be a 34-year-old man, died at the scene.
Police from Orana Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
The Newell Highway was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
