Fatal Two-vehicle Crash At Albury

A teenager has died following a two-vehicle crash in the state's south overnight.

Just before 8pm (Friday 9 August 2024), emergency services responded to a crash on the Olympic Highway at Table Top, about 20 kilometres north of Albury.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District found a Toyota Hilux and a Holden Astra sedan had collided head-on.

The driver, of the Holden Astra, a boy believed to be aged 17, died at the scene.

The three occupants of the Toyota Hilux, a man aged 31, a woman aged 31 and a boy aged 12, were treated at the scene by witnesses and Ambulance paramedics, before being conveyed to Albury Base Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A crime scene was established which was examined by specialist police.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
