Detectives have arrested a man for criminal neglect and aggravated assault of a child in the northern suburbs.
On Sunday 13 October, a 3-month-old girl was admitted to hospital with severe life-threatening injuries. The victim remained in hospital for six weeks and has sustained significant and permanent brain damage.
Following a protracted investigation by Northern District Child and Family Investigation Section and Major Crime Investigation Branch, the father of the victim, a 34-year-old man from Mawson Lakes, was arrested today (Thursday 19 December) and charged with aggravated assault cause serious harm with intent and criminal neglect.
He has been refused bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow (Friday 20 December).
