Community support events
The Baw Baw Shire Council hosted a number of community support events across the Shire in the weeks following the significant storm event on Tuesday 13 February 2024.
- Saturday 17 February: Thorpdale Public Hall, THORPDALE
- Tuesday 20 February: Trafalgar IGA carpark, 5 McCrorey St, TRAFALGAR
- Wednesday 21 February: Yarragon BBQ Picnic Area, Princes Highway, YARRAGON
- Thursday 22 February: Neerim South Playground, 150 Main Neerim Rd, NEERIM SOUTH (Corner Main Neerim Road & Neerim E Road).
The pop-up events/sausage sizzles provided an opportunity for the community to speak directly with Council officers and give us a better understanding of the local impacts of the storms, and how we can best assist. Representatives from the Victorian Council of Churches Emergency Ministries were also in attendance.
If you or someone you know requires ongoing support relating to the impacts of the storm, you can notify Council by completing this form: Storm Event - February 2024 - Support Request.
