With the 2022 Federal election rapidly approaching, Council has been active in its advocacy on our community's behalf.
There are three federal electorates (Jagajaga, McEwen, Menzies) which overlap within Nillumbik Shire's boundaries and we are keeping a close eye on election commitments that would have a direct impact on Council and our community.
We will continue to advocate to whoever aspires to government, regardless of political persuasion in our Community's best interests.

Kate Thwaites - Australian Labor Party
- $2 million for works across Eltham Lower Park including pavilion upgrade and a dedicated off-leash dog park
- $150,000 for revegetation works to help restore the Diamond Creek in Eltham North
- $20,000 for local toy libraries, including Eltham
McEwen
Includes Arthurs Creek, Bend of Islands, Christmas Hills, Cottles Bridge, Diamond Creek, Hurstbridge, Nutfield, Panton Hill, Plenty, Smiths Gully, St Andrews, Strathewen, Watsons Creek, Wattle Glen, Yarrambat.
