Federation Council is pleased to announce the reopening of the fishing platform at Rowers Park, Corowa, following extensive repairs. The popular community asset sustained damage during the 2022 floods and has now been fully restored for public use.
The repair project, valued at $101,645.50 (inc GST), was undertaken by local contractor Focus Engineering and reached completion on April 7, 2025.
Whether you're a keen angler looking to cast a line into the Murray River or simply wish to enjoy the picturesque views, the Rowers Park fishing platform is once again a fantastic spot to visit.
This important project was made possible through the $1M NSW Severe Weather & Flood Grant successfully secured by Federation Council in the aftermath of the 2022 flood event. These funds have been crucial in restoring vital community infrastructure impacted by the natural disaster
Federation Council Mayor, Cheryl Cook, expressed her excitement at the reopening.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have the fishing platform at Rowers Park fully operational once again," she said.
"This is a much-loved spot for our community to connect with the beautiful Murray River, whether for fishing or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Its restoration is a testament to Council's commitment to rebuilding and enhancing our community spaces following the devastating floods of 2022."
Mayor Cook said she would like to thank Focus Engineering for their efficient and high-quality work in completing these repairs.
"The reopening of this platform is a significant step forward, ensuring that our residents and visitors can once again enjoy this wonderful recreational amenity," she said.
