Advocate for Inclusive Communities Ange Clarke announced as the Federation Council's Australia Day Ambassador.

Founder of Where there's a Will Ltd and advocate and champion for inclusive communities, Ange Clarke has been announced as this year's Australia Day Ambassador for the Federation Council Local Government area.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Patrick Bourke said, "We are honoured to have Ms Clarke attend our special Australia Day Awards and ceremony at ClubMulwala, as well as help present the Citizen Awards and Student Achievement Awards during the official ceremonies. We look forward to hearing Ange's talk about her son Will and how they have empowering and uniting communities through art, ability and inclusion for the last 25 years."

The Australia Day Ambassador Program is one of the longest running and most successful national Australia Day programs sending high achieving Australians to over 300 community celebrations nationwide every Australia Day. Ambassadors are past recipients of the Australian of the Year Awards, sportspeople, scientists, businesspeople, actors and community workers who contributed greatly to the community.

Australia Day is a time for all Australians to come together to reflect, respect and celebrate. It is a day to reflect on the past, present and future – to think about where we have been and where we are going as a nation, a day to listen to each other and respect each other's stories and contributions and it's a day to celebrate together and celebrate being Australians.

"Australia Day offers a great opportunity to come together as a community, and to recognise the contributions and efforts of those in our community," said the Mayor. "I encourage all residents to join us at ClubMulwala on Australia Day as we take the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of individuals in our local communities and the many things, we love about living in the Federation Council."
