Goulburn Mulwaree Council is excited to announce the completion of the Ross Whittaker Pavilion Female Facilities Upgrade Project. This transformative project replaced outdated facilities with modern, Female Friendly amenities that cater to the diverse needs of sports teams, schools, and community groups in the region.

"The project involved the demolition of old structures and the construction of new, state-of-the-art facilities, including a Female Friendly toilet and change room, a disability toilet, and a first aid room. These upgrades will not only enhance accessibility and inclusivity at the pavilion but also drive increased participation of women and girls in sports, fostering a stronger, more active community." Said Goulburn Mulwaree Council Mayor Peter Walker.

Minister for Sport, Steve Kamper, said that projects like these show the NSW Government's commitment to upgrading infrastructure so that it can cater to the needs of the whole community.

"Sporting infrastructure plays a critical role in keeping communities healthy, active and connected and sports facilities must cater to the needs of everyone in these communities."

"The addition of female friendly amenities means more women and girls will be able to participate in sport in an environment that makes them feel welcome and supported to do so."

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman commended Goulburn Mulwaree Council on their application to the Female Friendly Community Sport Facilities program.

"The old pavilion facilities had been closed for use due to age and dilapidation. This upgrade improves the Ross Whittaker Pavilion's usability for all sorts of events as well as the regular use by Goulburn Basketball, Goulburn and District Netball and the Show Society," Mrs Tuckerman said.

The Ross Whittaker Basketball Stadium Female Facilities were upgraded with $98,004 grant funding from the NSW Government and a $32,669 contribution from Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
