Property owners whose fence lines are encroaching onto a road reserve in Lancefield will no longer need to move the existing fences as part of the footpath construction process.
Council's Director Assets and Operations, Shane Walden said that the construction plans have been reviewed in response to concerns and feedback from residents.
"Our officers have developed new evaluation criteria ensuring this project is able to continue without impacting fence lines. This outcome ensures that the township has good connectivity for people of all abilities along the new 265m concrete footpath connecting into the existing footpath in this area," he said.
The new evaluation criteria takes into account existing constraints and hazards, and the overall impacts to the footpath plans and compliance.
It is anticipated that works will begin later this year. Once confirmed, Council will advise residents on the planned commencement date for construction.
