Festival Of Voices Launches Into Song

Nic Street, Minister for Sport and Events

The 2024 Festival of Voices has officially opened, with a huge program full of local, interstate and international acts set to warm up Tasmanian audiences.

Minister for Sport and Events, Nic Street said Festival of Voices is an event that all Tasmanians look forward to every winter.

"The Festival of Voices is one of our major events on the winter calendar and one of the highlights of the Off Season," Minister Street said.

"The Tasmanian Government has been a proud supporter of the festival from its inception, and we have supported the event from 2023 to 2025 with a total of $2.25 million.

"The Festival of Voices program always has something for everyone and this year is no exception.

"From the Big Sing Bonfire at PW1 to Massaoke Oz at the Odeon, to the many workshops on offer, festival goers will have plenty of opportunities to sing their hearts out.

"For those who would rather listen to music, this year the Pop-up Choir Program will be travelling to other regions in the state, so that audiences at Flinders Island, Port Arthur and St Helens, just to name a few, can enjoy the sounds of some of the country's finest choirs.

"I encourage all Tasmanians to have a look at the program and participate in one of the many free or ticketed family-friendly events on offer."

Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, our Government will provide longer-term certainty for existing events and additional capacity to target off-season events by boosting our Events Fund.

The Festival of Voices runs from Friday, 28 June to Sunday, 7 July. To view the program and purchase tickets, go to www.festivalofvoices.com
