Festivale Set To Heat Up Summer In Launceston

Tasmanian Government

Tasmanians are set to enjoy another year of Festivale showcasing the State's premium food, wine, beer, arts and entertainment.

Launching last night, the event will also attract interstate celebrity chefs, producers and nationally renowned performers.

Minister for Sport and Events, Nic Street, said it was exciting to attend the event launch to get a sneak peek of what's in store for next year.

"Festivale is one of the highlights on the Tasmanian summer events calendar," Minister Street said.

"The event has now been running for more than 40 years, which is an incredible achievement and is testament to the hard work, passion and dedication of its organisers and volunteers.

"Every year, the Festivale team puts together an excellent program packed with entertainment for the whole family, and I know the 2025 event will be no exception.

The Tasmanian Government has been a long-time supporter of Festivale. Through the 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, funding to secure the event into the future is being progressed as part of our commitment to secure Tasmania's iconic events.

"The Tasmanian Government recognises the value of Festivale to our food and beverage producers, to our State's economy, and to our well-deserved reputation as an events destination," Minister Street said.

As part of our Next 100 Days for a stronger economy, the Government has also commenced negotiations with key iconic events, including Dark Mofo, Junction Arts Festival, Supercars and the Taste of Summer, to extend their existing agreements to ensure Tasmania's visitor economy stays strong year-round.

Festivale runs from Friday, 31 January to Sunday, 2 February 2025.
