A final round of voting has commenced on the Town Entrance Sign Motif consultation for four towns where the initial voting round was "too close to call".
General Manager Community Sally Rice thanked residents throughout the whole shire on their support for this engagement opportunity and said most signs now displayed a unique motif which reflected the nature and makeup of each town.
"These motifs were chosen by members of the community during an extensive consultation process, however four towns – Bundalong, Tungamah, Waaia and Wilby – were too close to call and consequently, a final round of voting is now underway," Ms Rice said.
"To make this process as equitable as possible we are asking people to vote only once.
"We are also pleased to announce, after consultation with the Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation, the motif for Katamatite as voted by the community, will be the Turtle and Goanna.
"This new signage builds on the energy and impact of our revitalised logo and reinforces our vision of the shire working together to be a vibrant and prosperous rural community."
