At its Council Meeting of 9 April 2024, Council resolved to adopt amendments to the Community Participation Plan.
Accordingly, the amended Community Participation Plan has now been adopted and the final version is publicly available on Council's website and will soon be publicly available on the NSW Planning Portal.
Council's Community Participation Plan outlines when and how the community can expect to participate in planning matters that affect them.
Community participation helps build confidence in the planning system as well as understanding within the community of the need to responsibly manage growth and change while seeking to preserve valued and unique aspects of The Shire.
The Community Participation Plan applies to plan making and development assessment matters within the Shire, such as preparation of Local Strategies, Precinct Plans, Local Environmental Plans, Development Control Plans, Contributions Plans and assessment of Planning Proposals, Planning Agreements and Development Applications.
It is a separate document to Council's Community Engagement Strategy that guides how Council listens to and engages more generally with the community.
