We are delighted to announce the finalists for the 2025 Bayside Painting Prize.
After receiving over 600 submissions, our panel of esteemed judges selected 47 artists whose works will be exhibited at Bayside Gallery from 9 May to 22 June.
The finalist exhibition brings together a broad range of artists from across Australia, whose varied approaches to the painted medium convey the breadth and diversity of Australian painting.
Featuring a non-acquisitive Major prize of $25,000, a $10,000 Beckett Local Prize (acquisitive), and a $1,000 People's Choice Award, this is the only annual painting prize held in Melbourne and provides a fresh insight into current practice.
The Prize is an opportunity for Bayside City Council to connect the community with a fabulous space to enjoy art on both the local and national level, while also adding exceptional works of art with a local connection to its collection.
