A Finks outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) member – wanted on an outstanding warrant – will face court today charged over alleged traffic and drug offences.
Police will allege in court that when a 24-year-old man failed to appear before Mt Druitt Local Court on Monday 6 February 2023 over a pursuit with police and other traffic matters, a conviction warrant was issued for his arrest.
About 2.30pm yesterday (Friday 10 February 2023), an off-duty police officer allegedly sighted the man at a shopping centre in Bay Village Road, Bateau Bay.
Officers from Raptor North were notified and, with assistance from Tuggerah Lakes Police District, arrested the man at the shopping complex a short time later.
During a search of the man, police located mobile phones, cash, a bottle alleged to contain GHB and prescription medication. These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.
The man was taken to Wyong Police Station, where the outstanding warrant was executed, and he was also charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly.
It will be alleged that the man, from Shalvey, is a member of the Finks OMCG.
He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today (Saturday 11 January 2023).
