Finland Pledges EUR 2M to UNDP for Global Development

The Government of Finland has contributed EUR 2 million (USD 2.2 million) in core resources to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for 2024. This funding reflects Finland's unwavering commitment to multilateralism and underscores its dedication to advancing sustainable development globally.

With this financial support, UNDP will continue to respond promptly and effectively to various global crises, ensuring that vital resources are deployed where they are needed most. This crucial contribution helps strengthen UNDP's initiatives in key areas prioritized in our partnership with Finland, including crisis prevention and mediation, climate action, and advancements in innovation and digital transformation.

It also reinforces UNDP's global outreach while maintaining the highest standards of transparency, oversight, and accountability. UNDP is consistently recognized as one of the most transparent international organizations, a distinction made possible through the sustained support from its core resources.

As the international community grapples with complex and urgent challenges, Finland's support is essential for advancing shared priorities and accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UNDP wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude for Finland's ongoing support and looks forward to a close collaboration to deliver meaningful development impact for the communities we serve.
