Firearm Discharged, Deagon

Queensland Police are investigating following a firearm incident in Deagon this morning, December 19.

Emergency services were called to an Edith Street property shortly after midnight following reports of a disturbance.

Initial investigations indicate an unknown offender forced their way into a home and was confronted by the male and female occupants.

During the confrontation, the offender discharged their firearm towards a kitchen chair and the occupants hid.

The offender is believed to have fled shortly afterwards in a white Subaru Outlander in the direction of Rainbow Street, Sandgate.

It is understood neither victim sustained physical injuries during the confrontation but were transported to hospital as a precaution.

Nothing was stolen and investigations are ongoing to determine whether the the victims and offender were known to each other.

A crime scene has been declared and investigations are ongoing.
