Firearms Seized At Findon

Two men will face court today charged with firearms offences.

On Tuesday 14 May following an investigation police from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch attended a Findon address to conduct a search.

Inside the home police allegedly located a .38 calibre revolver. Inside a vehicle located at the address police located approximately 150g of methylamphetamine and a loaded 6.35mm (.25 calibre) handgun.

A 28-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with trafficking a controlled drug and three counts of possessing a firearm without a licence. The man was also wanted for questioning after a sawn-off shotgun was located during a search of a Findon business on the 30 of November. He has been refused bail and will be appearing in Adelaide Magistrates Court later today (Wednesday 15 May)

A 21-year-old Croydon Park man was also located at the address. In his possession police allegedly located ammunition. Checks revealed he was also breaching conditions of a bail agreement. He was arrested and charged. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

Detective Superintendent Billy Thompson, OIC Serious and Organised Crime Branch said, "The illegal possession of firearms in the community is concerning, particularly when it's alleged firearms are possessed in conjunction with drug trafficking. The outcomes of this investigation demonstrates the commitment of SA Police to remove firearms and drugs from the community to keep our community safe.
