Police have arrested five men after an attempted home invasion in Cranbourne North last night.
Officers have been told several men gathered outside the Strzelecki Court home and demanded entry shouting threats towards the residents about 11.15pm.
The group didn't enter the home but made their way to the rear yard where they grabbed a dirt bike and loaded it into a minivan.
The Air Wing was called in to assist and responding police intercepted a Ford Territory nearby, which was seen with the minivan, and arrested the 49-year-old driver.
Police pursued the vehicle and successfully deployed stop sticks before the van, with its two front tyres damaged, came to a stop at the intersection of South Gippsland Highway and Thompsons Road.
Three of the four men inside the minivan surrendered to police while the fourth, who tried to run, was arrested nearby following a short foot pursuit.
The men, ranging in age from 35 to 56, will now be interviewed by detectives.
At this early stage it appears the incident was targeted.
The investigation remains ongoing.
