Police have charged five people over the alleged supply of cocaine and operating a criminal group in western Sydney, NSW Police say.
In June 2016, investigators from the State Crime Command’s Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad (MEOCS) established Strike Force Woodalla to investigate the supply of cocaine across Sydney.
Following extensive investigations, officers executed three search warrants in Woodville Road, Guilford, and a fourth in Brand Street, Carlingford, on Friday (28 October 2016), during which they seized amounts of methylamphetamine and cocaine, cash and a number of mobile phones.
All of the items seized will undergo further forensic examination.
Officers arrested a 23-year-old woman and 26-year-old man while searching the properties in Guildford, both of whom were taken to Parramatta Police Station.
A second 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested at a property on Whitaker Street, Old Guildford, in connection with the operation, before being taken to Parramatta Police Station.
In addition, a 33-year-old woman was arrested during the Carlingford search warrant. During a search of the woman, police also allegedly located amounts of cocaine and methylamphetamine, before she was taken to Ryde Police Station.
Police will allege in court the group were operating a drug ring that was supplying cocaine across Sydney’s metropolitan area.
After further inquiries, the 23-year-old woman was charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and knowingly participate in a criminal group.
The 26-year-old man, arrested in Guildford, was charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and knowingly participate in a criminal group.
They were both refused bail to front Parramatta Local Court on Saturday (29 October 2016), where the pair was remanded in custody to reappear on Thursday 19 January 2017.
The second 26-year-old man, arrested on Whitaker Street, was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and knowingly direct activities of a criminal group.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday (29 October 2016), where he was remanded in custody to reappear on Friday (4 November 2016).
The 21-year-old woman was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), and knowingly participate in a criminal group.
She was refused bail to face Fairfield Local Court on Friday (28 October 2016), where she was remanded in custody to appear before Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow.
The 33-year-old woman was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), and deal with proceeds of crime.
She was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday (29 October 2016), where she was remanded in custody to appear before Central Local Court today.
