Five Charged With Drug Offenses in Albury Bust

Five people will face court today charged with more than 30 drug offences in the state's south.

In March 2024, Strike Force Mundin was established to investigate the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the Albury region.

About 10am yesterday (Tuesday 15 October 2024), officers attached to Murray River and Riverina Police Districts, with assistance from NSW Raptor Squad and the NSW Dog Unit executed three simultaneous search warrants at three properties on Borella Road and Albury Resolution Street, Albury, and Sylvania Avenue, North Albury.

Police seized an amount of methamphetamine and cash at the home in Borella Road, Albury.

Two women, aged 21 and 52, and a 25-year old man were arrested. They were taken to Albury police Station.

The 52-year-old woman was charged with 15 offences, including supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime equal to or greater than $100,000, owner/occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises, and knowingly/recklessly direct criminal group assist crime.

The 21-year-old woman was charged with five counts of supply prohibited drug, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The 25-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug offences, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The 52-year-old woman and 25-year-old man were refused bail to appear before Albury Local Court today (Wednesday 16 October 2024).

The 21-year-old woman was granted conditional bail to appear before Albury Local Court on Wednesday 23 October 2024.

At the Sylvania Avenue, North Albury home, police seized a mobile phone and drugs allegedly found on a 55-year-old man inside.

The man was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station and charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug.

At the Resolution Street, Albury home, police seized cannabis and arrested a 47-year-old woman who was taken to Albury Police Station.

She was charged with four counts of supply prohibited drug, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and possess prohibited drug.

The 55-year-old man and 47-year-old woman were granted conditional bail to appear in Albury Local Court on Wednesday 23 October 2024.

In court, police will allege the group supplied prohibited drugs, including methylamphetamines, to the Albury region from March until October 2024.

Investigations as part of Strike Force Mundin are continuing.
